Dubai is an incredible city with a lot of exciting attractions, so it makes sense to rent a car to explore it in style!
What is rental service?
One of the most important things to know is that you need to be in possession of a valid driver’s license, as well as an International Driving License. Expats from most countries don’t need to get additional licenses, but if you are from the USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand and haven’t held yours for over one year, then you’ll need to provide an International Driving License to drive in the UAE.
Another thing you should check when booking your UAE Car Rental is the insurance cover. Most UAE car hire companies don’t include it as standard, so you may need to add it on yourself for an extra cost.
You should also be aware of toll road charges when you rent a car in Dubai. These costs are added to your rental car bill at the beginning of the rental period and you’ll be charged every time you pass through a toll.
If you don’t want to deal with these charges, then you can use the salik tag that you’ll be given when renting your car in Dubai to avoid paying for each toll you pass. Each toll costs 4 AED (around $1 US) and there is no cap on daily use so if you’re driving around a lot, this can add up.
